New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
And furthermore, the future world we are talking about will not be controlled by angels. 5 It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
For somewhere in the Scriptures it says, "What is man that you should think of him, and the son of man that you should care for him? 6 But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
For a little while you made him lower than the angels, and you crowned him with glory and honor. 7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor
You gave him authority over all things." Now when it says "all things," it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all of this happen. 8 and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.
What we do see is Jesus, who "for a little while was made lower than the angels" and now is "crowned with glory and honor" because he suffered death for us. Yes, by God's grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone in all the world. 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
