The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
The beast of the field shall glorify me, the jackals and the ostriches; for I will give waters in the wilderness, rivers in the waste, to give drink to my people, my chosen. 20 The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,
This people have I formed for myself: they shall shew forth my praise. 21 the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
-- But thou hast not called upon me, Jacob; for thou hast been weary of me, O Israel: 22 "Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, O Israel.
thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt-offerings, neither hast thou glorified me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to toil with an oblation, nor wearied thee with incense. 23 You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense.
Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices; but thou hast made me to toil with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. 24 You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses.
-- I, I [am] He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and I will not remember thy sins. 25 "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
Put me in remembrance, let us plead together; rehearse thine own [cause], that thou mayest be justified. 26 Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.
Thy first father hath sinned, and thy mediators have rebelled against me. 27 Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me.
And I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the ban, and Israel to reproaches. 28 So I will disgrace the dignitaries of your temple, and I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.
