Revised Standard Version (RSV) New International Version (NIV)
So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and afflicted Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. 7 So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
And he took a potsherd with which to scrape himself, and sat among the ashes. 8 Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God, and die." 9 His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!"
But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips. 10 He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
