New King James Version (NKJV) New International Version (NIV)
I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, 'He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.' 18 "I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture: 'He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.'
Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am He. 19 "I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me." 20 I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me."
When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me." 21 After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me."
Then the disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom He spoke. 22 His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant.
Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. 23 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him.
Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke. 24 Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means."
Then, leaning back on Jesus' breast, he said to Him, "Lord, who is it?" 25 Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?"
Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it." And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 26 Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon.
Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly." 27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. "What you are about to do, do quickly," Jesus told him,
But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him. 28 but no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him.
