1 Then the whole body of them got up and brought Him before Pilate. 1 Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King." 2 And they began to accuse him, saying, "We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Christ, a king."
3 So Pilate asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews ?" And He answered him and said, "It is as you say." 3 So Pilate asked Jesus, "Are you the king of the Jews?" "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied.
4 Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, "I find no guilt in this man. 4 Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd, "I find no basis for a charge against this man."#cr
5 But they kept on insisting, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee even as far as this place." 5 But they insisted, "He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here."
6 When Pilate heard it, he asked whether the man was a Galilean. 6 On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.
