Lexham English Bible (LEB) New International Version (NIV)
Now it happened that on another Sabbath he entered into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there, and his right hand was withered. 6 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled.
So the scribes and the Pharisees were watching closely [to see] if he would heal on the Sabbath, in order that they could find [a reason] to accuse him. 7 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath.
But he knew their thoughts and said to the man who had the withered hand, "Get up and stand in the middle," and he got up [and] stood there. 8 But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to the man with the shriveled hand, "Get up and stand in front of everyone." So he got up and stood there.
And Jesus said to them, "I ask you whether it is permitted on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy [it]?" 9 Then Jesus said to them, "I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?"
And [after] looking around at them all, he said to him, "Stretch out your hand," and he did, and his hand was restored. 10 He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He did so, and his hand was completely restored.
But they were filled with fury, and began discussing with one another what they might do to Jesus. 11 But they were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.
