23 Then he said to all of them, "If anyone wants to follow me, he must say no to himself. He must pick up his cross every day and follow me. 23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
24 If he wants to save his life, he will lose it. But if he loses his life for me, he will save it. 24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.
25 What good is it if someone gains the whole world but loses or gives up his very self? 25 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self ?
26 "Suppose you are ashamed of me and my words. The Son of Man will come in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels. Then he will be ashamed of you. 26 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
27 "What I'm about to tell you is true. Some who are standing here will not die before they see God's kingdom." 27 I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."
