1 Y ahora, para vosotros, sacerdotes, es este mandamiento.
|
1 "And now this admonition is for you, O priests.
|
|
2 Si no escucháis, y si no decidís de corazón dar honor a mi nombredice el SEÑOR de los ejércitosenviaré sobre vosotros maldición, y maldeciré vuestras bendiciones; y en verdad, ya las he maldecido, porque no lo habéis decidido de corazón.
|
2 If you do not listen, and if you do not set your heart to honor my name," says the LORD Almighty, "I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not set your heart to honor me.
|

3 He aquí, yo reprenderé a vuestra descendencia, y os echaré estiércol a la cara, el estiércol de vuestras fiestas, y seréis llevados con él.
|
3 "Because of you I will rebuke your descendants; I will spread on your faces the offal from your festival sacrifices, and you will be carried off with it.
|
|
4 Entonces sabréis que os he enviado este mandamiento para que mi pacto siga con Levídice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
|
4 And you will know that I have sent you this admonition so that my covenant with Levi may continue," says the LORD Almighty.
|
|
5 Mi pacto con él era de vida y paz, las cuales le di para que me reverenciara; y él me reverenció, y estaba lleno de temor ante mi nombre.
|
5 "My covenant was with him, a covenant of life and peace, and I gave them to him; this called for reverence and he revered me and stood in awe of my name.
|
|
6 La verdadera instrucción estaba en su boca, y no se hallaba iniquidad en sus labios; en paz y rectitud caminaba conmigo, y apartaba a muchos de la iniquidad.
|
6 True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin.
|
|
7 Pues los labios del sacerdote deben guardar la sabiduría, y los hombres deben buscar la instrucción de su boca, porque él es el mensajero del SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
|
7 "For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, and from his mouth men should seek instruction--because he is the messenger of the LORD Almighty.
|
|
8 Pero vosotros os habéis desviado del camino, habéis hecho tropezar a muchos en la ley, habéis corrompido el pacto de Levídice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
|
8 But you have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; you have violated the covenant with Levi," says the LORD Almighty.
|
|
9 Por eso yo también os he hecho despreciables y viles ante todo el pueblo, así como vosotros no habéis guardado mis caminos y hacéis acepción de personas en la ley.
|
9 "So I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality in matters of the law."
|
|
10 ¿No tenemos todos un mismo padre? ¿No nos ha creado un mismo Dios? ¿Por qué nos portamos deslealmente unos contra otros, profanando el pacto de nuestros padres?
|
10 Have we not all one Father ? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers by breaking faith with one another?
|
|
11 Deslealmente ha obrado Judá, y una abominación se ha cometido en Israel y en Jerusalén; pues Judá ha profanado el santuario del SEÑOR, que El ama, y se ha casado con la hija de un dios extraño.
|
11 Judah has broken faith. A detestable thing has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem: Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the LORD loves, by marrying the daughter of a foreign god.
|
|
12 Que el SEÑOR extermine de las tiendas de Jacob al hombre que hace esto (sea testigo o defensor ) aunque presente una ofrenda al SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
|
12 As for the man who does this, whoever he may be, may the LORD cut him off from the tents of Jacob--even though he brings offerings to the LORD Almighty.
|
|
13 Y esta otra cosa hacéis: cubrís el altar del SEÑOR de lágrimas, llantos y gemidos, porque El ya no mira la ofrenda ni la acepta con agrado de vuestra mano.
|
13 Another thing you do: You flood the LORD's altar with tears. You weep and wail because he no longer pays attention to your offerings or accepts them with pleasure from your hands.
|
|
14 Y vosotros decís: "¿Por qué?" Porque el SEÑOR ha sido testigo entre tú y la mujer de tu juventud, contra la cual has obrado deslealmente, aunque ella es tu compañera y la mujer de tu pacto.
|
14 You ask, "Why?" It is because the LORD is acting as the witness between you and the wife of your youth, because you have broken faith with her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.
|
|
15 Pero ninguno que tenga un remanente del Espíritu lo ha hecho así. ¿Y qué hizo éste mientras buscaba una descendencia de parte de Dios? Prestad atención, pues, a vuestro espíritu; no seas desleal con la mujer de tu juventud.
|
15 Has not [the LORD] made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.
|
|
16 Porque yo detesto el divorciodice el SEÑOR, Dios de Israely al que cubre de iniquidad su vestiduradice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos. Prestad atención, pues, a vuestro espíritu y no seáis desleales.
|
16 "I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel, "and I hate a man's covering himself with violence as well as with his garment," says the LORD Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.
|
|
17 Habéis cansado al SEÑOR con vuestras palabras. Y decís: ¿En qué le hemos cansado? Cuando decís: Todo el que hace mal es bueno a los ojos del SEÑOR, y en ellos El se complace; o: ¿Dónde está el Dios de la justicia?
|
17 You have wearied the LORD with your words. "How have we wearied him?" you ask. By saying, "All who do evil are good in the eyes of the LORD, and he is pleased with them" or "Where is the God of justice?"
