And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 7 Calling the Twelve to him, he sent them out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits.
He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staff; no bread, no bag, no money in their belts; 8 These were his instructions: "Take nothing for the journey except a staff--no bread, no bag, no money in your belts.
but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics. 9 Wear sandals but not an extra tunic.
And he said to them, "Where you enter a house, stay there until you leave the place. 10 Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town.
And if any place will not receive you and they refuse to hear you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them." 11 And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them."
So they went out and preached that men should repent. 12 They went out and preached that people should repent.
And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them. 13 They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.
