The Latin Vulgate w/ Apocrypha (VULA) New International Version (NIV)
hoc enim sentite in vobis quod et in Christo Iesu 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
qui cum in forma Dei esset non rapinam arbitratus est esse se aequalem Deo 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
sed semet ipsum exinanivit formam servi accipiens in similitudinem hominum factus et habitu inventus ut homo 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
humiliavit semet ipsum factus oboediens usque ad mortem mortem autem crucis 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!
propter quod et Deus illum exaltavit et donavit illi nomen super omne nomen 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
ut in nomine Iesu omne genu flectat caelestium et terrestrium et infernorum 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
et omnis lingua confiteatur quia Dominus Iesus Christus in gloria est Dei Patris 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
