Proverbs 15:1-6 NCV/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

New Century Version (NCV) New International Version (NIV)
1 A gentle answer will calm a person's anger, but an unkind answer will cause more anger. 1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 Wise people use knowledge when they speak, but fools pour out foolishness. 2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
3 The Lord's eyes see everything; he watches both evil and good people. 3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
4 As a tree gives fruit, healing words give life, but dishonest words crush the spirit. 4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.
5 Fools reject their parents' correction, but anyone who accepts correction is wise. 5 A fool spurns his father's discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.
6 Much wealth is in the houses of good people, but evil people get nothing but trouble. 6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure, but the income of the wicked brings them trouble.
