1 (130-1) <A gradual canticle of David.> Lord, my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me. 1 My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
2 (130-2) If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul. 2 But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.
3 (130-3) Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever. 3 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.
