GOD'S WORD Translation (GW) New International Version (NIV)
I will give thanks to you with all my heart. I will make music to praise you in front of the false gods. 1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the "gods" I will sing your praise.
I will bow toward your holy temple. I will give thanks to your name because of your mercy and truth. You have made your name and your promise greater than everything. 2 I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.
When I called, you answered me. You made me bold by strengthening my soul. 3 When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.
All the kings of the earth will give thanks to you, O LORD, because they have heard the promises you spoke. 4 May all the kings of the earth praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth.
They will sing this about the ways of the LORD: "The LORD's honor is great!" 5 May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.
Even though the LORD is high above, he sees humble people [close up], and he recognizes arrogant people from a distance. 6 Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar.
Even though I walk into the middle of trouble, you guard my life against the anger of my enemies. You stretch out your hand, and your right hand saves me. 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me.
The LORD will do everything for me. O LORD, your mercy endures forever. Do not let go of what your hands have made. 8 The LORD will fulfill [his purpose] for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever-- do not abandon the works of your hands.
