Halleluyah! How good it is to sing praises to our God! How sweet, how fitting to praise him! 1 Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
ADONAI is rebuilding Yerushalayim, gathering the dispersed of Isra'el. 2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He determines how many stars there are and calls them all by name. 4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Our Lord is great, his power is vast, his wisdom beyond all telling. 5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
ADONAI sustains the humble but brings the wicked down to the ground. 6 The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
Sing to ADONAI with thanks, sing praises on the lyre to our God. 7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp.
He veils the sky with clouds; he provides the earth with rain; he makes grass grow on the hills; 8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
he gives food to the animals, even to the young ravens when they cry. 9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
He takes no delight in the strength of a horse, no pleasure in a runner's speed. 10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;
ADONAI takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who wait for his grace. 11 the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Glorify ADONAI, Yerushalayim! Praise your God, Tziyon! 12 Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion,
For he strengthens the bars of your gates, he blesses your children within you, 13 for he strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
he brings peace within your borders, he gives you your fill of the finest wheat. 14 He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
He sends his word out over the earth, his command runs swiftly. 15 He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
Thus he gives snow like wool, scatters hoarfrost like ashes, 16 He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
sends crystals of ice like crumbs of bread -who can withstand such cold? 17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
Then he sends his word out and melts them; he makes the winds blow, and the water flows. 18 He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.
He reveals his words to Ya'akov, his laws and rulings to Isra'el. 19 He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.
He has not done this for other nations; they do not know his rulings. Halleluyah! 20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
