New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
A psalm of David. The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. 1 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
For he laid the earth's foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. 2 for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? 3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
They will receive the LORD's blessing and have right standing with God their savior. 5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.
They alone may enter God's presence and worship the God of Israel. Interlude 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. "Selah"
Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Who is the King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, invincible in battle. 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Who is the King of glory? The LORD Almighty -- he is the King of glory. Interlude 10 Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory. "Selah"
