To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. 1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
O my God, in you I trust; do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me. 2 in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.
Do not let those who wait for you be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. 3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.
Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. 4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long. 5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. 6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for your goodness' sake, O Lord! 7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. 8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. 9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.
All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his decrees. 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.
For your name's sake, O Lord, pardon my guilt, for it is great. 11 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
Who are they that fear the Lord? He will teach them the way that they should choose. 12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.
They will abide in prosperity, and their children shall possess the land. 13 He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes his covenant known to them. 14 The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.
My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. 15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. 16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
Relieve the troubles of my heart, and bring me out of my distress. 17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish.
Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. 18 Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.
Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me. 19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me!
O guard my life, and deliver me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. 20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. 21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all its troubles. 22 Redeem Israel, O God, from all their troubles!
