The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
{Of David. Instruction.} Blessed is he [whose] transgression is forgiven, [whose] sin is covered! 1 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah reckoneth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile! 2 Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old, through my groaning all the day long. 3 When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; my moisture was turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. "Selah"
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity I covered not; I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah, and *thou* forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"-- and you forgave the guilt of my sin. "Selah"
For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee at a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they will not reach him. 6 Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
Thou art a hiding-place for me; thou preservest me from trouble; thou dost encompass me with songs of deliverance. Selah. 7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. "Selah"
I will instruct thee and teach thee the way in which thou shalt go; I will counsel [thee] with mine eye upon thee. 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
Be ye not as a horse, as a mule, which have no understanding: whose trappings must be bit and bridle, for restraint, or they will not come unto thee. 9 Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
Many sorrows hath the wicked; but he that confideth in Jehovah, loving-kindness shall encompass him. 10 Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.
Rejoice in Jehovah, and be glad, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye upright in heart. 11 Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
