A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. 1 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. 2 Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long. 3 When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. "Selah"
I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord," And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"-- and you forgave the guilt of my sin. "Selah"
For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You In a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters They shall not come near him. 6 Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah 7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. "Selah"
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you. 9 Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him. 10 Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart! 11 Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
