<> An oracle is within my heart about the disobedience of the wicked: "There is no fear of God before his eyes." 1 An oracle is within my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.
For he flatters himself in his own eyes, Too much to detect and hate his sin. 2 For in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to detect or hate his sin.
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good. 3 The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and to do good.
He plots iniquity on his bed. He sets himself in a way that is not good; He doesn't abhor evil. 4 Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful course and does not reject what is wrong.
Your lovingkindness, Yahweh, is in the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. 5 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God. Your judgments are a great deep. Yahweh, you preserve man and animal. 6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.
How precious is your lovingkindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings. 7 How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house. You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures. 8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the spring of life. In your light shall we see light. 9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Oh continue your lovingkindness to those who know you, Your righteousness to the upright in heart. 10 Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Don't let the foot of pride come against me. Don't let the hand of the wicked drive me away. 11 May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There the workers of iniquity are fallen. They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise. 12 See how the evildoers lie fallen-- thrown down, not able to rise!
