Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness ! You have relieved me in my distress ; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer. 1 Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.
O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach ? How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception ? Selah. 2 How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame ? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods ? "Selah"
But know that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call to Him. 3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him.
Tremble, and do not sin ; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 4 In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. "Selah"
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in the LORD. 5 Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD.
Many are saying, "Who will show us any good ?" Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O LORD ! 6 Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.
You have put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound. 7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety. 8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
