New Revised Standard (NRS) New International Version (NIV)
O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 1 O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. 2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. 3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on your name. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast, and my mouth praises you with joyful lips 5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
when I think of you on my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; 6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.
for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy. 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. 8 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.
But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth; 9 They who seek my life will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth.
they shall be given over to the power of the sword, they shall be prey for jackals. 10 They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals.
But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall exult, for the mouths of liars will be stopped. 11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God's name will praise him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.
