King James Version (KJV) New International Version (NIV)
Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: 1 Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. 2 Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious!
Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. 3 Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. 4 All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name." "Selah"
Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men. 5 Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf !
He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him. 6 He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot-- come, let us rejoice in him.
He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah. 7 He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations-- let not the rebellious rise up against him. "Selah"
O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard : 8 Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;
Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved. 9 he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried . 10 For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver.
Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins. 11 You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs.
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place. 12 You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.
I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, 13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you--
Which my lips have uttered , and my mouth hath spoken , when I was in trouble. 14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.
I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah. 15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. "Selah"
Come and hear , all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. 16 Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. 17 I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: 18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. 19 but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. 20 Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
