Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock! You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth 1 Hear us, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock; you who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth
before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh. Stir up your might, and come to save us! 2 before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken your might; come and save us.
Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved. 3 Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
O Lord God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people's prayers? 4 O LORD God Almighty, how long will your anger smolder against the prayers of your people?
You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in full measure. 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears; you have made them drink tears by the bowlful.
You make us the scorn of our neighbors; our enemies laugh among themselves. 6 You have made us a source of contention to our neighbors, and our enemies mock us.
Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved. 7 Restore us, O God Almighty; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. 8 You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.
You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land. 9 You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land.
The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches; 10 The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches.
it sent out its branches to the sea, and its shoots to the River. 11 It sent out its boughs to the Sea, its shoots as far as the River.
Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit? 12 Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its grapes?
The boar from the forest ravages it, and all that move in the field feed on it. 13 Boars from the forest ravage it and the creatures of the field feed on it.
Turn again, O God of hosts; look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine, 14 Return to us, O God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see! Watch over this vine,
the stock that your right hand planted. 15 the root your right hand has planted, the son you have raised up for yourself.
They have burned it with fire, they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your countenance. 16 Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire; at your rebuke your people perish.
But let your hand be upon the one at your right hand, the one whom you made strong for yourself. 17 Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand, the son of man you have raised up for yourself.
Then we will never turn back from you; give us life, and we will call on your name. 18 Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name.
Restore us, O Lord God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved. 19 Restore us, O LORD God Almighty; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
