New Revised Standard (NRS) New International Version (NIV)
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. 1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders.
I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
When my enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished before you. 3 My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you.
For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne giving righteous judgment. 4 For you have upheld my right and my cause; you have sat on your throne, judging righteously.
You have rebuked the nations, you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever and ever. 5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
The enemies have vanished in everlasting ruins; their cities you have rooted out; the very memory of them has perished. 6 Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished.
But the Lord sits enthroned forever, he has established his throne for judgment. 7 The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.
He judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with equity. 8 He will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with justice.
The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. 9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. 10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion. Declare his deeds among the peoples. 11 Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done.
For he who avenges blood is mindful of them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted. 12 For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.
Be gracious to me, O Lord. See what I suffer from those who hate me; you are the one who lifts me up from the gates of death, 13 O LORD, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,
so that I may recount all your praises, and, in the gates of daughter Zion, rejoice in your deliverance. 14 that I may declare your praises in the gates of the Daughter of Zion and there rejoice in your salvation.
The nations have sunk in the pit that they made; in the net that they hid has their own foot been caught. 15 The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
The Lord has made himself known, he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.+p[Higgaion. Selah] 16 The LORD is known by his justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. "Higgaion." "Selah"
The wicked shall depart to Sheol, all the nations that forget God. 17 The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God.
For the needy shall not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor perish forever. 18 But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish.
Rise up, O Lord! Do not let mortals prevail; let the nations be judged before you. 19 Arise, O LORD, let not man triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence.
Put them in fear, O Lord; let the nations know that they are only human. (Selah) 20 Strike them with terror, O LORD; let the nations know they are but men. "Selah"
