The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
{To the chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David.} The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted themselves, they have done abominable works: there is none that doeth good. 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
Jehovah looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
They have all gone aside, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one. 3 All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people [as] they eat bread? They call not upon Jehovah. 4 Will evildoers never learn-- those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD?
There were they in great fear; for God is in the generation of the righteous. 5 There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous.
Ye have shamed the counsel of the afflicted, because Jehovah [was] his refuge. 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge.
