Psalm 41:5-8 NLT/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
5 But my enemies say nothing but evil about me. "How soon will he die and be forgotten?" they ask. 5 My enemies say of me in malice, "When will he die and his name perish?"
6 They visit me as if they are my friends, but all the while they gather gossip, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere. 6 Whenever one comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it abroad.
7 All who hate me whisper about me, imagining the worst for me. 7 All my enemies whisper together against me; they imagine the worst for me, saying,
8 "Whatever he has, it is fatal," they say. "He will never get out of that bed!" 8 "A vile disease has beset him; he will never get up from the place where he lies."
