New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
For the choir director: A psalm of the descendants of Korah, to be sung by soprano voices. A song. God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. 1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Interlude 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. "Selah"
A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God himself lives in that city; it cannot be destroyed. God will protect it at the break of day. 5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
The nations are in an uproar, and kingdoms crumble! God thunders, and the earth melts! 6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
The LORD Almighty is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Interlude 7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. "Selah"
