Common English Bible (CEB) New International Version (NIV)
LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name throughout the earth! You made your glory higher than heaven! 1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
From the mouths of nursing babies you have laid a strong foundation because of your foes, in order to stop vengeful enemies. 2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I look up at your skies, at what your fingers made— the moon and the stars that you set firmly in place— 3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what are human beings that you think about them; what are human beings that you pay attention to them? 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
You've made them only slightly less than divine, crowning them with glory and grandeur. 5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You've let them rule over your handiwork, putting everything under their feet— 6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:
all sheep and all cattle, the wild animals too, 7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
the birds in the sky, the fish of the ocean, everything that travels the pathways of the sea. 8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name throughout the earth! 9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
