New Revised Standard (NRS) New International Version (NIV)
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. O that today you would listen to his voice! 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, 8 do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert,
when your ancestors tested me, and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work. 9 where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did.
For forty years I loathed that generation and said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they do not regard my ways." 10 For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways."
Therefore in my anger I swore, "They shall not enter my rest." 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."
