For this cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you. 22 This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.
But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you, 23 But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to see you,
whensoever I make my journey into Spain I will come to you. For I trust to see you on my journey, and to be brought on my way thither by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company. 24 I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to visit you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while.
But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints. 25 Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the saints there.
For it hath pleased those of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are at Jerusalem. 26 For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
It hath pleased them verily, and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers in their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things. 27 They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews' spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.
When therefore I have performed this, and have secured to them this fruit, I will come to you on my way to Spain. 28 So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this fruit, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way.
And I am sure that when I come unto you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ. 29 I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.
