Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I have purposed to come unto you (but was prevented hitherto), that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.
I am debtor both to the Greeks and to the barbarians, both to the wise and to the unwise; 14 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish.
so, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the Gospel to you also who are at Rome. 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are at Rome.
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one who believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: "The just shall live by faith." 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness, 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
because that which may be known of God is manifest in them, for God hath shown it unto them. 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
For from the creation of the world the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
For when they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God, nor were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools
and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and to birds and fourfooted beasts and creeping things. 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
