But speak thou the things that become sound doctrine: 1 You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.
That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well: 3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
That they may teach the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their children. 4 Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
To be discreet, chaste, sober, having a care of the house, gentle, obedient to their husbands: that the word of God be not blasphemed. 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Young men, in like manner, exhort that they be sober. 6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
