1 Y fue en el año cuatrocientos ochenta después que los hijos de Israel salieron de Egipto, en el cuarto año del principio del reino de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el mes segundo, que él comenzó a edificar la Casa del SEÑOR.

In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the LORD.
2 La Casa que el rey Salomón edificó al SEÑOR, tuvo sesenta codos de largo y veinte de ancho, y treinta codos de alto.

The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.
3 Y el portal delante del templo de la Casa, de veinte codos de largo, según la anchura de la Casa, y su ancho <I>era</I> de diez codos delante de la Casa.

The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits, and projected ten cubits from the front of the temple.
4 E hizo a la Casa <I>ventanas</I> anchas <I>por dentro</I> , y estrechas <I>por fuera</I> .

He made narrow windows high up in the temple walls.
5 Edificó también junto al muro de la Casa un colgadizo alrededor, <I>pegado</I> a las paredes de la Casa en derredor del templo y del oratorio; e hizo cámaras alrededor.

Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.
6 El colgadizo de abajo <I>era</I> de cinco codos de ancho, y el de en medio de seis codos de ancho, y el tercero de siete codos de ancho; porque por fuera había hecho disminuciones a la casa en derredor, para no trabar <I> las vigas</I> de las paredes de la Casa.

The lowest floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits and the third floor seven. He made offset ledges around the outside of the temple so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls.
7 Y la Casa cuando se edificó, la fabricaron de piedras perfectas que traían <I>ya acabadas de labrar</I> ; de tal manera que cuando la edificaban, ni martillos ni hachas se oyeron en la Casa, ni ningún otro instrumento de hierro.

In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.
8 La puerta del colgadizo de en medio estaba al lado derecho de la Casa; y se subía por una <I>escalera de</I> caracol al del medio, y del medio al tercero.

The entrance to the lowest floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third.
9 Labró pues la Casa, y la acabó; y cubrió la Casa de labrados y de maderas de cedro puestas por orden.

So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks.
10 Y edificó asimismo el colgadizo en derredor de toda la Casa, de altura de cinco codos, el cual se apoyaba en la casa con vigas de cedro.

And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar.
11 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR a Salomón, diciendo:

The word of the LORD came to Solomon:
12 Esta Casa que tú edificas, si anduvieres en mis estatutos, e hicieres mis derechos, y guardares todos mis mandamientos andando en ellos, yo tendré firme contigo mi palabra que hablé a David tu padre;

“As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.
13 y habitaré en medio de los hijos de Israel, y no dejaré a mi pueblo Israel.

And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel.”
14 Así que, Salomón labró la Casa, y la acabó.

So Solomon built the temple and completed it.
15 Y edificó las paredes de la Casa por dentro con tablas de cedro, vistiéndola de madera por dentro, desde el solado de la casa hasta las paredes de la techumbre; y el solado cubrió de dentro con madera de haya.

He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of juniper.
16 Edificó también al cabo de la Casa veinte codos de tablas de cedro, desde el solado hasta las paredes, y se labró en la Casa un oratorio, que es el lugar santísimo.

He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
17 Y la Casa, a saber, el templo adentro, tenía cuarenta codos.

The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.
18 Y la Casa <I>estaba cubierta de</I> cedro <I>por</I> dentro, y tenía entalladuras de calabazas silvestres y de botones de flores. Todo <I>era</I> cedro; ninguna piedra se veía.

The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen.
19 Y adornó el oratorio por dentro en medio de la Casa, para poner allí el arca del pacto del SEÑOR.

He prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.
20 Y el oratorio <I>estaba</I> en la parte de adentro, el cual tenía veinte codos de largo, y otros veinte de ancho, y otros veinte de altura; y lo vistió de oro purísimo; asimismo cubrió el altar de cedro.

The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty wide and twenty high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.
21 Así que vistió Salomón de oro puro la Casa por dentro, y cerró la puerta del oratorio con cadenas de oro, y lo vistió de oro.

Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.
22 Vistió pues de oro toda la Casa hasta el cabo; y asimismo vistió de oro todo el altar que <I>estaba</I> delante del oratorio.

So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
23 Hizo también en el oratorio dos querubines de madera de oliva, cada uno de altura de diez codos.

For the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim out of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
24 Una ala del querubín tenía cinco codos, y la otra ala del <I>mismo</I> querubín otros cinco codos; así que había diez codos desde la punta de una ala hasta la punta de la otra.

One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits—ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip.
25 Asimismo el otro querubín tenía diez codos; porque ambos querubines eran de un tamaño y de una hechura.

The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape.
26 La altura del uno era de diez codos, y asimismo el otro.

The height of each cherub was ten cubits.
27 Y puso estos querubines dentro <I>del oratorio</I> de la Casa; los cuales querubines extendían sus alas, de modo que la ala del uno tocaba a la pared, y la ala del otro querubín tocaba a la otra pared, y las otras dos alas se tocaban la una a la otra en la mitad de la Casa.

He placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple, with their wings spread out. The wing of one cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the other touched the other wall, and their wings touched each other in the middle of the room.
28 Y vistió de oro los querubines.

He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29 Y esculpió todas las paredes de la Casa alrededor de diversas figuras, de querubines, de palmas, y de botones de flores, por dentro y por fuera.

On the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers.
30 Y cubrió de oro el solado de la casa, adentro y afuera.

He also covered the floors of both the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.
31 Y a la puerta del oratorio hizo puertas de madera de oliva; y el umbral y los postes eran de cinco esquinas.

For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors out of olive wood that were one fifth of the width of the sanctuary.
32 Las dos puertas <I>eran</I> de madera de oliva; y entalló en ellas figuras de querubines y de palmas y de botones de flores, y las cubrió de oro; cubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmas.

And on the two olive-wood doors he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold.
33 De la misma forma hizo a la puerta del templo postes de madera de oliva cuadrados.

In the same way, for the entrance to the main hall he made doorframes out of olive wood that were one fourth of the width of the hall.
34 Las dos puertas eran de madera de haya; y los dos lados de una puerta <I>eran</I> redondos, y los otros dos lados de la otra puerta <I>también</I> redondos.

He also made two doors out of juniper wood, each having two leaves that turned in sockets.
35 Y entalló en ellas querubines y palmas y botones de flores, y las cubrió de oro ajustado a las entalladuras.

He carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers on them and overlaid them with gold hammered evenly over the carvings.
36 Y labró el atrio interior de tres órdenes de piedras labradas, y de un órden de vigas de cedro.

And he built the inner courtyard of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams.
37 En el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, se pusieron los cimientos de la Casa del SEÑOR.

The foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv.
38 Y en el undécimo año, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, fue acabada la Casa con todas sus pertenencias, y con todo lo necesario. La edificó pues, en siete años.

In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.
