1 Corinthians 16

RHE 1 Now concerning the collections that are made for the saints: as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, so do ye also. NIV 1 Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. RHE 2 On the first day of the week, let every one of you put apart with himself, laying up what it shall well please him: that when I come, the collections be not then to be made. NIV 2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. RHE 3 And when I shall be with you, whomsoever you shall approve by letters, them will I send to carry your grace to Jerusalem. NIV 3 Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem. RHE 4 And if it be meet that I also go, they shall go with me. NIV 4 If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me. RHE 5 Now I will come to you, when I shall have passed through Macedonia. For I shall pass through Macedonia. NIV 5 After I go through Macedonia, I will come to you--for I will be going through Macedonia. RHE 6 And with you perhaps I shall abide, or even spend the winter: that you may bring me on my way whithersoever I shall go. NIV 6 Perhaps I will stay with you awhile, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my journey, wherever I go. RHE 7 For I will not see you now by the way: for I trust that I shall abide with you some time, if the Lord permit. NIV 7 I do not want to see you now and make only a passing visit; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. RHE 8 But I will tarry at Ephesus, until Pentecost. NIV 8 But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, RHE 9 For a great door and evident is opened unto me: and many adversaries. NIV 9 because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me. RHE 10 Now if Timothy come, see that he be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. NIV 10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is carrying on the work of the Lord, just as I am. RHE 11 Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct ye him on his way in peace, that he may come to me. For I look for him with the brethren. NIV 11 No one, then, should refuse to accept him. Send him on his way in peace so that he may return to me. I am expecting him along with the brothers. RHE 12 And touching our brother Apollo, I give you to understand that I much entreated him to come unto you with the brethren: and indeed it was not his will at all to come at this time. But he will come when he shall have leisure. NIV 12 Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was quite unwilling to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity. RHE 13 Watch ye: stand fast in the faith: do manfully and be strengthened. NIV 13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. RHE 14 Let all your things be done in charity. NIV 14 Do everything in love. RHE 15 And I beseech you, brethren, you know the house of Stephanus, and of Fortunatus, and of Achaicus, that they are the firstfruits of Achaia, and have dedicated themselves to the ministry of the saints: NIV 15 You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. I urge you, brothers, RHE 16 That you also be subject to such and to every one that worketh with us and laboureth. NIV 16 to submit to such as these and to everyone who joins in the work, and labors at it. RHE 17 And I rejoice in the presence of Stephanus and Fortunatus and Achaicus: because that which was wanting on your part, they have supplied. NIV 17 I was glad when Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you. RHE 18 For they have refreshed both my spirit and yours. Know them, therefore, that are such. NIV 18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition. RHE 19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house, with whom I also lodge. NIV 19 The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house. RHE 20 All the brethren salute you. Salute one another with a holy kiss. NIV 20 All the brothers here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss. RHE 21 The salutation of me Paul, with my own hand. NIV 21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. RHE 22 If any man love not our Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema, maranatha. NIV 22 If anyone does not love the Lord --a curse be on him. Come, O Lord ! RHE 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. NIV 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. RHE 24 My charity be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. NIV 24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
