1 Corinthians 3

NAS 1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. NIV 1 Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly--mere infants in Christ. NAS 2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, NIV 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. NAS 3 for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men? NIV 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men? NAS 4 For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere men? NIV 4 For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men? NAS 5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. NIV 5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe--as the Lord has assigned to each his task. NAS 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. NIV 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. NAS 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. NIV 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. NAS 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. NIV 8 The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. NAS 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. NIV 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. NAS 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. NIV 10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. NAS 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. NIV 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. NAS 12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, NIV 12 If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, NAS 13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. NIV 13 his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. NAS 14 If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. NIV 14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. NAS 15 If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. NIV 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. NAS 16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? NIV 16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? NAS 17 If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. NIV 17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple. NAS 18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. NIV 18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise. NAS 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, "He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS "; NIV 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; NAS 20 and again, "THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS." NIV 20 and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile." NAS 21 So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, NIV 21 So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours, NAS 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, NIV 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future--all are yours, NAS 23 and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God. NIV 23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
