1 Corinthians 6:1-8

NRS 1 When any of you has a grievance against another, do you dare to take it to court before the unrighteous, instead of taking it before the saints? NIV 1 If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? NRS 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? NIV 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? NRS 3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels—to say nothing of ordinary matters? NIV 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! NRS 4 If you have ordinary cases, then, do you appoint as judges those who have no standing in the church? NIV 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church! NRS 5 I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to decide between one believer and another, NIV 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? NRS 6 but a believer goes to court against a believer —and before unbelievers at that? NIV 6 But instead, one brother goes to law against another--and this in front of unbelievers! NRS 7 In fact, to have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? NIV 7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? NRS 8 But you yourselves wrong and defraud—and believers at that. NIV 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.
