1 Evitar demandas legales con los cristianos<br />Cuando uno de ustedes tiene un conflicto con otro creyente, ¿cómo se atreve a presentar una demanda y a pedirle a un tribunal secular que decida sobre el asunto, en lugar de llevarlo ante otros creyentes?

2 ¿No se dan cuenta de que algún día nosotros, los creyentes, juzgaremos al mundo? Y dado que ustedes van a juzgar al mundo, ¿no son capaces de resolver esas pequeñas cuestiones entre ustedes?

3 ¿No se dan cuenta de que juzgaremos a los ángeles? Así que deberían ser capaces de resolver los conflictos comunes y corrientes que ocurren en esta vida.

4 Si tienen conflictos legales acerca de tales asuntos, ¿por qué acuden a jueces que son de afuera y no son respetados por la iglesia?

5 Digo esto para que se avergüencen. ¿No hay nadie en toda la iglesia con suficiente sabiduría para decidir sobre esos temas?

6 Sino que un creyente<br /> demanda a otro, ¡justo frente a los incrédulos!

7 El hecho de que tengan semejantes demandas legales unos contra otros es en sí una derrota para ustedes. ¿Por qué mejor no aceptar la injusticia y dejar el asunto como está? ¿Por qué no se dejan estafar?

8 En cambio, son ustedes mismos los que hacen lo malo y estafan aun a sus propios hermanos en Cristo.

9 ¿No se dan cuenta de que los que hacen lo malo no heredarán el reino de Dios? No se engañen a sí mismos. Los que se entregan al pecado sexual o rinden culto a ídolos o cometen adulterio o son prostitutos o practican la homosexualidad

10 o son ladrones o avaros o borrachos o insultan o estafan a la gente: ninguno de esos heredará el reino de Dios.

11 Algunos de ustedes antes eran así; pero fueron limpiados; fueron hechos santos; fueron hechos justos ante Dios al invocar el nombre del Señor Jesucristo y por el Espíritu de nuestro Dios.

12 Evitar el pecado sexual<br />Ustedes dicen: «Se me permite hacer cualquier cosa», pero no todo les conviene. Y aunque «se me permite hacer cualquier cosa», no debo volverme esclavo de nada.

13 Ustedes dicen: «La comida se hizo para el estómago, y el estómago, para la comida». (Eso es cierto, aunque un día Dios acabará con ambas cosas). Pero ustedes no pueden decir que nuestro cuerpo fue creado para la inmoralidad sexual. Fue creado para el Señor, y al Señor le importa nuestro cuerpo.

14 Y Dios nos levantará de los muertos con su poder, tal como levantó de los muertos a nuestro Señor.

15 ¿No se dan cuenta de que sus cuerpos en realidad son miembros de Cristo? ¿Acaso un hombre debería tomar su cuerpo, que es parte de Cristo, y unirlo a una prostituta? ¡Jamás!

16 ¿Y no se dan cuenta de que, si un hombre se une a una prostituta, se hace un solo cuerpo con ella? Pues las Escrituras dicen: «Los dos se convierten en uno solo»<br />.

17 Pero la persona que se une al Señor es un solo espíritu con él.

18 ¡Huyan del pecado sexual! Ningún otro pecado afecta tanto el cuerpo como este, porque la inmoralidad sexual es un pecado contra el propio cuerpo.

19 ¿No se dan cuenta de que su cuerpo es el templo del Espíritu Santo, quien vive en ustedes y les fue dado por Dios? Ustedes no se pertenecen a sí mismos,

20 porque Dios los compró a un alto precio. Por lo tanto, honren a Dios con su cuerpo.

1 If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people?

2 Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?

3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!

4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church?

5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?

6 But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!

7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters.

9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men

10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.

13 You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!

16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”

17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
