1 Chronicles 4

NLT 1 The descendants of Judah were Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal. NIV 1 The descendants of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur and Shobal. NLT 2 Shobal’s son Reaiah was the father of Jahath. Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites. NIV 2 Reaiah son of Shobal was the father of Jahath, and Jahath the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites. NLT 3 The descendants of Etam were Jezreel, Ishma, Idbash, their sister Hazzelelponi, NIV 3 These were the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma and Idbash. Their sister was named Hazzelelponi. NLT 4 Penuel (the father of Gedor), and Ezer (the father of Hushah). These were the descendants of Hur (the firstborn of Ephrathah), the ancestor of Bethlehem. Mered also married Bithia, a daughter of Pharaoh, and she bore him children. No trace of them remains today. They killed everyone who lived there and took the land for themselves, because they wanted its good pastureland for their flocks. NIV 41 The men whose names were listed came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings and also the Meunites who were there and completely destroyed them, as is evident to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks. NLT 42 Five hundred of these invaders from the tribe of Simeon went to Mount Seir, led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel—all sons of Ishi. NIV 42 And five hundred of these Simeonites, led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, invaded the hill country of Seir. NLT 43 They destroyed the few Amalekites who had survived, and they have lived there ever since. NIV 43 They killed the remaining Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.
