1 Corinthians 6:1-8

RSV 1 When one of you has a grievance against a brother, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? NIV 1 If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? RSV 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? NIV 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? RSV 3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, matters pertaining to this life! NIV 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! RSV 4 If then you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who are least esteemed by the church? NIV 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church! RSV 5 I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no man among you wise enough to decide between members of the brotherhood, NIV 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? RSV 6 but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers? NIV 6 But instead, one brother goes to law against another--and this in front of unbelievers! RSV 7 To have lawsuits at all with one another is defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? NIV 7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? RSV 8 But you yourselves wrong and defraud, and that even your own brethren. NIV 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.
