1 Peter 2:1-6

LEB 1 Therefore, ridding yourselves of all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, NIV 1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. LEB 2 like newborn infants long for the unadulterated spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to salvation, NIV 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, LEB 3 if you have tasted that the Lord [is] kind, NIV 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. LEB 4 to whom you are drawing near, a living stone rejected by men but chosen [and] precious in the sight of God. NIV 4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him-- LEB 5 And [you] yourselves, as living stones, are being built up [as] a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. NIV 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. LEB 6 For it stands in scripture, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a chosen [and] precious cornerstone, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame."<note: A quotation from Isa 28:16> NIV 6 For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
