RSV 13 Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, NIV 13 Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, RSV 14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right.
