1 Timothy 2:1-7

CEB 1 First of all, then, I ask that requests, prayers, petitions, and thanksgiving be made for all people. NRS 1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, CEB 2 Pray for kings and everyone who is in authority so that we can live a quiet and peaceful life in complete godliness and dignity. NRS 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. CEB 3 This is right and it pleases God our savior, NRS 3 This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, CEB 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. NRS 4 who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. CEB 5 There is one God and one mediator between God and humanity, the human Christ Jesus, NRS 5 For there is one God; there is also one mediator between God and humankind, Christ Jesus, himself human, CEB 6 who gave himself as a payment to set all people free. This was a testimony that was given at the right time. NRS 6 who gave himself a ransom for all —this was attested at the right time. CEB 7 I was appointed to be a preacher and apostle of this testimony—I'm telling the truth and I'm not lying! I'm a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. NRS 7 For this I was appointed a herald and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
