2 Corinthians 6

BBE 1 We then, working together with God, make our request to you not to take the grace of God to no purpose. NIV 1 As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. BBE 2 (For he says, I have given ear to you at a good time, and I have been your helper in a day of salvation: see, now is the good time; now is the day of salvation): NIV 2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. BBE 3 Giving no cause for trouble in anything, so that no one may be able to say anything against our work; NIV 3 We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. BBE 4 But in everything making it clear that we are the servants of God, in quiet strength, in troubles, in need, in sorrow, NIV 4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; BBE 5 In blows, in prisons, in attacks, in hard work, in watchings, in going without food; NIV 5 in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; BBE 6 In a clean heart, in knowledge, in long waiting, in being kind, in the Holy Spirit, in true love, NIV 6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; BBE 7 In the true word, in the power of God; with the arms of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, NIV 7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; BBE 8 By glory and by shame, by an evil name and a good name; as untrue, and still true; NIV 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; BBE 9 Unnoted, but still kept fully in mind; as near to death, but still living; as undergoing punishment, but not put to death; NIV 9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; BBE 10 As full of sorrow, but ever glad; as poor, but giving wealth to others; as having nothing, but still having all things. NIV 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. BBE 11 Our mouth is open to you, O Corinthians, our heart is wide. NIV 11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you. BBE 12 It is not our feelings to you which are narrow, but yours to us. NIV 12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. BBE 13 Now to give me back payment of the same sort (I am talking as to my children), let your hearts be wide open to me. NIV 13 As a fair exchange--I speak as to my children--open wide your hearts also. BBE 14 Do not keep company with those who have not faith: for what is there in common between righteousness and evil, or between light and dark? NIV 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? BBE 15 And what agreement is there between Christ and the Evil One? or what part has one who has faith with one who has not? NIV 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? BBE 16 And what agreement has the house of God with images? for we are a house of the living God; even as God has said, I will be living among them, and walking with them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people. NIV 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." BBE 17 For which cause, Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and let no unclean thing come near you; and I will take you for myself, NIV 17 "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." BBE 18 And will be a Father to you; and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord, the Ruler of all. NIV 18 "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
