2 Corinthians 6

CJB 1 As God's fellow-workers we also urge you not to receive his grace and then do nothing with it. NIV 1 As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. CJB 2 For he says, "At the acceptable time I heard you; in the day of salvation I helped you." NIV 2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. CJB 3 We try not to put obstacles in anyone's path, so that no one can find fault with the work we do. NIV 3 We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. CJB 4 On the contrary, we try to commend ourselves in every way as workers for God by continually enduring troubles, hardships, calamities, NIV 4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; CJB 5 beatings, imprisonments, riots, overwork, lack of sleep and food. NIV 5 in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; CJB 6 We commend ourselves by our purity, knowledge, patience and kindness; by the Ruach HaKodesh; by genuineness of love NIV 6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; CJB 7 and truthfulness of speech; and by God's power. We commend ourselves through our use of righteous weapons, whether for pressing our cause or defending it; NIV 7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; CJB 8 through being honored and dishonored, praised and blamed, considered deceptive and sincere, NIV 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; CJB 9 unknown and famous. And we commend ourselves as God's workers headed for death, yet look! we're alive! as punished, yet not killed; NIV 9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; CJB 10 as having reason to be sad, yet always filled with joy; as poor, yet making many people rich; as having nothing, yet having everything! NIV 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. CJB 11 Dear friends in Corinth! We have spoken frankly to you, we have opened our hearts wide. NIV 11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you. CJB 12 Any constraint you feel has not been imposed by us, but by your own inner selves. NIV 12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. CJB 13 So, just to be "fair" (I am using the language of children), open wide your hearts too. NIV 13 As a fair exchange--I speak as to my children--open wide your hearts also. CJB 14 Do not yoke yourselves together in a team with unbelievers. For how can righteousness and lawlessness be partners? What fellowship does light have with darkness? NIV 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? CJB 15 What harmony can there be between the Messiah and B'liya'al? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? NIV 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? CJB 16 What agreement can there be between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God - as God said, "I will house myself in them, . . . and I will walk among you. I will be their God, and they will be my people." NIV 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." CJB 17 Therefore ADONAI says, "'Go out from their midst; separate yourselves; don't even touch what is unclean. Then I myself will receive you. In fact, I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters.' says ADONAI-Tzva'ot." NIV 17 "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."
