2 Timothy 4:1-6

CEB 1 I'm giving you this commission in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is coming to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearance and his kingdom. NIV 1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: CEB 2 Preach the word. Be ready to do it whether it is convenient or inconvenient. Correct, confront, and encourage with patience and instruction. NIV 2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. CEB 3 There will come a time when people will not tolerate sound teaching. They will collect teachers who say what they want to hear because they are self-centered. NIV 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. CEB 4 They will turn their back on the truth and turn to myths. NIV 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. CEB 5 But you must keep control of yourself in all circumstances. Endure suffering, do the work of a preacher of the good news, and carry out your service fully. NIV 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. CEB 6 I'm already being poured out like a sacrifice to God, and the time of my death is near. NIV 6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure.
