1 The Lord is king. Let the earth rejoice; faraway lands should be glad.

The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.
2 Thick, dark clouds surround him. His kingdom is built on what is right and fair.

Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
