1 Salmo di Davide. L’Eterno ha detto al mio Signore: Siedi alla mia destra finché io abbia fatto de’ tuoi nemici lo sgabello dei tuoi piedi.

The LORD says to my lord:“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”
2 L’Eterno estenderà da Sion lo scettro della sua potenza: Signoreggia in mezzo ai tuoi nemici!

The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of your enemies!”
3 Il tuo popolo s’offre volenteroso nel giorno che raduni il tuo esercito. Parata di santità, dal seno dell’alba, la tua gioventù viene a te come la rugiada.

Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb.
4 L’Eterno l’ha giurato e non si pentirà: Tu sei sacerdote in eterno, secondo l’ordine di Melchisedec.

The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

The Lord is at your right hand ; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.
6 eserciterà il giudizio fra le nazioni, riempirà ogni luogo di cadaveri,

He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
7 schiaccerà il capo ai nemici sopra un vasto paese; berrà dal torrente per via, e perciò alzerà il capo.

He will drink from a brook along the way,and so he will lift his head high.
