Acts 1:9-19

NRS 9 When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. NIV 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. NRS 10 While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. NIV 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. NRS 11 They said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven." NIV 11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." NRS 12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away.
