Colossians 2:8-15

NRS 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ. NIV 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. NRS 9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, NIV 9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, NRS 10 and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority. NIV 10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. NRS 11 In him also you were circumcised with a spiritual circumcision, by putting off the body of the flesh in the circumcision of Christ; NIV 11 In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, NRS 12 when you were buried with him in baptism, you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. NIV 12 having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. NRS 13 And when you were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive together with him, when he forgave us all our trespasses, NIV 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, NRS 14 erasing the record that stood against us with its legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross. NIV 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. NRS 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public example of them, triumphing over them in it. NIV 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
