Colossians 3

NAS 1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. NIV 1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. NAS 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. NIV 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. NAS 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. NIV 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. NAS 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. NIV 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. NAS 5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. NIV 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. NAS 6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, NIV 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. NAS 7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. NIV 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. NAS 8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. NIV 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. NAS 9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, NIV 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices NAS 10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him- NIV 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. NAS 11 a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all. NIV 11 Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. NAS 12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; NIV 12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. NAS 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. NIV 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. NAS 14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. NIV 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. NAS 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. NIV 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. NAS 16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. NIV 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. NAS 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. NIV 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. NAS 18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord . NIV 18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. NAS 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. NIV 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. NAS 20 Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord . NIV 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. NAS 21 Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart. NIV 21 Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. NAS 22 Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord . NIV 22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. NAS 23 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, NIV 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, NAS 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. NIV 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. NAS 25 For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality. NIV 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.
